Talk:Pincoya
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I find Chilote mythology fascinating, and have no reason to disbelieve any of the stories written in this article. However I have asked for citations (in two places) for any published works that support the details written here. Resources will only strengthen this article. Jemusser 04:35, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- I don't understand "Chiloean mythology is appreciative of the Pincoya, believed to be humane, beautiful and feminine." :(. The first part is easily findable (?) in
- Martinez Vilches, Oscar, Chiloe Misterioso. Pub. Ediciones de la Voz de Chiloe (circa 1998)
- Quintana, Bernardo (1987), Chiloé Mitológico, Temuco: Telstar Impresores
- However, what does mean believed to be humane, beautiful and feminine.. If it means that people believe Pincoya is human, beautiful and feminine, there is an misunderstanding. Pincoya is beautiful (Quintana & Vilches); feminine, hummmm, she is like a woman in shape (Quintana, Vilches and all the histories), but she isn't feminine in rest of meanings of this word; Pincoya is not human in race, she can be human for her mercy (or angry).
