Pinball FX is Zen Studios' arcade pinball machine video game for the Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade service[1] for 800 Microsoft Points ($10 USD).

Pinball FX was released on the Xbox Live Arcade service on April 25, 2007.[2]

[edit] Gameplay

The game features three dynamic tables that become more featured and complex as the game advances. It also gives the player the option of using the Xbox Live Vision camera to operate the flippers and also using the camera to video chat with online opponents.

Multiplayer options allow competitive play against other Xbox Live players, taking the form of a race to 10, 25, 50, 75, or 100 million points. You can also set penalties for losing a ball in these modes like 5, 10, 15, or 25% of your score being lost when a ball is lost.

The "Buccaneer" table was released on October 31, 2007. It features its own 20 point Achievement and is free of charge. In addition, it will be included in all future downloads of the main game.[1]

The "Nightmare Mansion" table was released on January 16, 2007. It, too, featured its own 20 point Achievement. The table cost 200 Microsoft Points ($2.50 USD.)

Eurogamer described the game "a fantastic virtual pinball engine", giving it a score of 7/10,[1] comparing it to Pinball Dreams. IGN wrote, "three mediocre boards, a couple-hundred Achievement Points, and little else."[2] PinballAddicts concluded their review "I'd certainly give Pinball FX the thumbs up and at around US$10 you really cant go wrong."[3]
