Pinanthode

Pinanthode is a panchayat town in Kanniyakumari district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, near the Thirparappu waterfalls.

The name Pinanthode is derived from the Dravidian language Malayalam and means a place where you get a variety of tamarind known as penam puli.

The economy is based on rubber, coconut, banana and tapioca cultivation.
