[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Dukkookim.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dukkookim.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:06, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:Metcard

You requested a photograph of "experimental credit card ticket machines at some city tram stops"; I've taken a few, I would like to know if you think a top-only (zoomed), stand-only (less zoomed) or machine-in-situ photograph is more appropriate. Josh Parris 00:42, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fifth Melbourne meetup

The fifth meetup of Melbourne Wikipedians is being planned as a breakfast meeting in the city with Jimbo Wales (at a venue to be arranged) on Friday, 27 April 2007.

Jimbo has proposed breakfast as the one real window of opportunity during his tightly scheduled stay in Melbourne. Tbe precise time has to be sorted out with Jimbo, but the arrangements for the equivalent Adelaide meetup a few days before may give a good idea.

Feel free to edit the relevant page in any way that might be helpful. I feel like a bit of an interloper, not having attended previous meetups. If there's anything you can do to help, I'll be grateful. Please think about whether you'll be able to make it, assuming the arrangements are similar to those Adelaide is adopting (i.e. a block of time with people being fairly free to arrive when it suits them). Some indication on the page of your possible participation would be really helpful. Metamagician3000 06:28, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Melbourne meetup 6

Hi. This is a reminder to people on the Melbourne meetup participation list that the next meetup has been arranged for 19 June. Could you indicate on the meetup page your likely attendence, or otherwise. Regards. - Cuddy Wifter 23:42, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks...

... For putting a date to that Old Tunes incident- I had never been able to find anything regarding the year that took place.

Just saying thanks. - Nö†$®åM 02:03, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Wallpaper new logoHR2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Wallpaper new logoHR2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:43, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Timeisgoddead.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Timeisgoddead.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 19:42, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:People weekly 3.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:People weekly 3.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use.

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Cexpint-hi res.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Cexpint-hi res.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. High on a tree 04:38, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:WorldSoccer logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:WorldSoccer logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:42, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Darrell Fitton retired?

Hi, I have some doubts about the added information on Fittons retirement:

  • I don't think PMW Creative (the cited source) represents Fittons management. According to their website Fitton was only an associate musician, for which they only state that they 'have expressed interest in writing and performing scores for PMW related projects.'
  • I cannot find any other sources to verify the information that Darrel Fitton retired from the music industry.

Best regards, eboy (talk) 00:30, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

I picked up the news from a web forum, where it was taken as true. I don't have any other sources, but I haven't seen any conflicting news either. If you do find it to be false, I, for one, would be quite happy :) Pimlottc (talk) 02:58, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
I too hope he isn't retired, but I'm afraid he is... Anyway, for now I propose to replace the text by something like 'There are rumours that Fitton has decided to leave the music industry as of November 2007. [1]'. This way, we don't have to mention what the relation of PMW is to Fitton, and we make it clear that the information is not 100% verifiable. When more verifiable sources become available, we can add the most relevant sources, and make the text more definite. eboy (talk) 10:28, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Sounds good. I sent an email off to Skam, hopefully they can resolve this. Although they have shown some signs of being defunct themselves, lately... Pimlottc (talk) 12:16, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Changes made. Any news from Skam yet? I tried to check their website but it is still down. eboy (talk) 15:13, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what I meant about defunct. No word from them, I'm not holding my breath. Pimlottc (talk) 16:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi, just to let you know Skam's website is back online. On the main page of the shop, the following is stated about Bola:
Bola
5x wrestling champion of healy bridge.....
Undefeated..... Considers retirement.....
Shock rumour!!
He won't will he ?

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Blossom music center logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Blossom music center logo.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 08:28, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
