Company articles
Hi, I see that you have created a few stubs for aviation related companies. I think that some of these probably are not notable enough for inclusion in Wikipedia. Have a look at the guidelines for company notability for some info on what is and is not notable. Cheers Kevin 09:02, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- (Re your comments on my talk page) You are probably in the best position to be able to find sources for those articles (I am assuming you are in the industry). If you want to delete any of them, and you are the only substantial contributor, then place {{db-author}} in the article. Cheers Kevin 23:05, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
{{Bombardier}}
Hey, Good work with the template
Just FYI, when transcluding it, you only need {{Bombardier}}, you dont need the "Template:" bit =)
Reedy Boy 18:24, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. Some useful stuff for you below - use ~~~~ to sign and date your talk posts, and if you want to reference a template on someones page, like i did, without 'transcluding it', use {{tl|TemplateName}} Reedy Boy 18:46, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Diamond DA40
I noticed you wanted this redirect deleted so you could move Diamond Star DA40. Could you put a notice on the talk page of Diamond Star DA40 saying that you intend to move it? If, within a few days, there is no opposition, then you can go ahead and ask an admin to delete the redirect. Thanks - ugen64 07:10, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
RE: Hey there!
Hi back to you! I agree, aviation isn't a very frequent hobby in the LGBT community. As for your question, no I'm not a pilot (currently) just very interested in commercial aviation and spotting (obviously). Anyway, nice to meet you! LightPhoenix 21:05, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- You'll probably find, there are a lot more than you would think ;). Not everyone has userboxes to identify as such. Quite a few edits this month i see! Oh, and your now AWB approved. Reedy Boy 22:02, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: I had a feeling about you ;)
Heh
Well, a starting place, writing something seperate may be better. I see from your infoboxes, that you are somewhat programming literate.
I suppose, in theory, you could use AWB for the migration of the templates, using regex FAR... But writing a custom program may be better.
Well, it depends if there are parameter changes, or its just a simple replace the first {{whatever with something else...
AWB's quite a good tool, and you can do quite a lot with it, it can be quite powerful. Well, i should know, I'm one of the active developers towards the tool! ie A lot of the recent contributions between the last release and have involved or been done by me. Im quite proud
Enough being big headed....
If you can tell me whether its just a simple FAR (find and replace), or something more complex, i'll try and advise you the best way!
If you want a laugh - [1]....
Reedy Boy 22:13, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- I noticed the comments about using AWB for airport infoboxes, see User talk:Reedy Boy#Non-North American airports, last couple of sentences. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 06:10, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
Infobox Migration
Its getting there...
Just it seems to want to miss a "{" off, and its not catching runways *yet*... but I'm getting there!

- Well all the Florida airports are done. 3,742 to go! --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 21:13, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
USA 3000
No...but I did ask her what the hell she's talking about?! Do you wanna explain that to her? lol Sox23 03:42, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- After a little research myself, I'm confused as to what she's talking about as well. It doesn't look like you removed any of her edits, but I can't be sure. Either way - the article seems to be fixed now, and if they strike again, we can explain to them what they're doign wrong. --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 03:50, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Pilot
Hey Justin- I was looking at your userpage and I see that you're a pilot. I'm looking at colleges right now and I was wondering where you went to school and if the aviation program was good there? The only thing I know college-wise right now is that I want to be a pilot. Any suggestions?
Steve (Sox23 04:24, 23 July 2007 (UTC))
I'm from Illinois so I've been looking at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and my neighbor's friend went to the aviation school there (don't know how it was b/c I never talk to him anymore) so I'm curious to know if you have heard anything about U of I's aviation program? - Steve
- I got my info material from Embry-Riddle today and mailed back the questionaire...do you think a 28 ACT would get me into E-R? Sox23 06:34, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Infobox Plugin with AWB
Well that was simple enough!
Just the code to finish now!

Airport Infobox Migration Plugin
Hi, I think ive all but done with the development of the plugin. I have re-written the code (using a regex from User:Kingboyk), meaning more cases and such are caught.
For your Info: User:Reedy Boy/Airport Infobox Migration Plugin
Would you please also look over my lates Contributions, and see if you can see any other errors
Please note, some of the edits are manually altered to resolve errors. I've fixed quite a few niggly things, and the 2 known outstanding issues, are noted on User:Reedy Boy/Airport Infobox Migration Plugin
I should hopefully be able to give the plugin out tommorow!
Thanks

Young Mr. Patton
I have deleted the duplicate at Dylan so that you can move the Zachery over. I'll leave it to you to make the move, because I don't know which is the better choice for where the article should be. Carlossuarez46 17:26, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Your recent edit to List of Disney Channel series

Air Crash Investigation
Thanks for the reminder Pilotboi. I just wanted to tell you that although the flight was a small aircraft, the flight number could identify it. --202.95.200.12 07:05, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
I come from a country called Papua New Guinea (PNG). Not much happens there so I research info by TV or Internet. For more PNG info, try go to the link "Papua New Guinea". --202.95.200.12 07:14, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Virgin Atlantic & push-backs
Hi, it is an interesting concept - V.A. have been giving lots of thought into making flights sustainable (or shall I say, less unsustainable!). A good precis is here: here & here. The BBC article I've cited isn't very exhaustive. However, its hard to find a definitive, original source for those statements - I've been looking for a Virgin At. or California.gov report - I'm sure they're out there but I can't see them, their press release sites aren't impressive! Ephebi 21:57, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- PS - this whole area of 'sustainable' flight is quite intruiging - did you know that Rolls Royce tested hydrogen fuel cells on airliners 30+ years ago? (Although good enough for NASA to use on Apollo, RR couldn't make them reliable enough for passenger aircraft) Ephebi 22:02, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey Pilotboi,
Thanks for your help on Australian National Academy of Music, I'm trying not to get it deleted again.

Popular
I may be absolutely wrong, but I think you edited the page about tv show popular to show season three and season four for winter 2007/08. Are they finally going to film these/release these?
thanks

China Eastern Airline pilot
You´re right, but please make a exception! I´ve unfortunately no idea how to become a (CEA would be my first preference) pilot, so I immediatly want to know it. Thanks for your comprehension!!! By the way: Please assess my work on my user page! Dagadt
Thanks
Thanks for checking Ground Support Equipment and if you have a time please check it again. I think, Push-back tugs and tractors should be mention there, they are part of GSU, please live it if possible. Thanks again!--Dtomcro 08:03, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's little shorter now .-))), but seems ok to me. As you saw I (hardly) translated my article from Croatian wiky and any help is welcome. Once again thanks for your attention. --D tomcro 10:39, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi !
Sorry about the test page. I'm new to wikipedia. Are you a real person or a bot ?
Thanks a lot
Thanks for the tips. I've been referring to wikipedia for a long time now but never really got down to contributing. I wanted to write an article on "The room of answers". Its based partly on legend and Indian folklore. So basically it'll be original research or findings. Will such an article be deleted ? --Staticsid 06:44, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Response to speedy deletion mark
Thanks for your thoughts and correction of an article I posted. I apologize for removing inappropriately the mark for deletion, a result of my ignorance and inexperience to wikipedia contribution. I will note however that you flagged the article I posted inaccurately. Your flag was for Blatant Advertising and per the definition on wikipedia your reasoning was not justified in this type of flag. The requirement is that the content be inappropriate which it was not, "simply having the company as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion."
Blatant advertising. Pages which exclusively promote some entity and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic. Note that simply having e.g. a company or product as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion; an article that is blatant advertising should have inappropriate content as well.
The article however was deleted under a reason that I cannot argue with at current time:
(CSD A7(Web): Subject that does not reasonably assert meeting notability criteria for web content)
I hope this helps in your more appropriate future patrolling of wikipedia. Good luck in Aerospace its a tuff but fun row to hoe.
Regards,
-Joe

Just as a heads up, be sure to warn the article creator about the CSD tagging ;) I did it this time! Giggy Talk 08:50, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- The bot is User:Android Mouse Bot 2. I'm not sure exactly how to make it work, but I assume that if the user isn't warned in x amount of time, it sends out the warning. I've never used it, just dished out my own :) Giggy Talk 22:24, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
