Her character is Melinda Gordon who just got married on this episode, who also can communicate ghosts to help them to the other side. It also stars David Conrad (Men of Honor, and Return to Paradise). [edit] Plot

Melinda Gordon, a woman who can see and speak to earthbound spirits who have yet to cross to the other side, must help the spirit of a soldier who died in Vietnam and doesn't realize he is dead.[1]

Melinda Gordon has a gift. Ever since she was a girl she possessed the ability to talk to earthbound spirits. These spirits use Melinda as a conduit to pass messages to the living; sometimes this information is too intense and scattered to understand. This leads to skepticism by the living and confusion for Melinda. But when she is able to aid both the deceased and the living Melinda realizes this unearthly talent is gift to human kind and that it is her calling to help all those that have passed connect to those that have survived. In the first episode, she must help a sergeant, who died in the Vietnam War, to crossover.

[edit] Production notes

The series is based on the work of "Spirit Communicator" James Van Praagh,[3] who is co-executive producer[4] and constantly updates a blog about the show through CBS.[5] The stories are also said to be based in part on the work of "Spirit Communicator" Mary Ann Winkowski.[6]. Development of the show dates back to at least two years before its premiere.[7] The show is currently produced by Sander/Moses Productions in association with CBS Paramount Network Television (originally CBS Productions in season 1) and currently ABC Studios today.
