Piloo Mody

Piloo Mody was the founder of the Swatantra Party and an advocate of liberal and free politics of India. He was a member of the Lok Sabha, India's lower house of parliament. A member of the Parsee community, he was married to a Swiss national. An architecture school and a FIDE chess tournament are named in his honour.
Mody studied at the University of California, Berkeley, and was close to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the former Pakistani prime minister, his college roommate. Piloo Mody was a great friend of Zulifikar Ali Bhutto and wrote the book Zulfy my Friend ".
He was an architect by education.[1]. His brother, Russi Mody is a former chairman of Tata Iron and Steel company Limited
He was arrested by Indira Gandhi government under MISA in Emergency in India in 1975.[2]
