It serves students in grades 9-12 in the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township. The 2006-07 enrollment is 3,192. [edit] Athletics

The athletic mascot is the Red Devil. The men's basketball team has taken state titles in 1998, 2001, and 2003. Notable basketball players who attended Pike include Western Kentucky's Courtney Lee, UAB's Robert Vaden (formerly at Indiana), Purdue's Rodney Smith and David Teague, Notre Dame's Chris Thomas (2001 Indiana Mr. Basketball) and Ashley Barlow. During Pike's 2002-2003 basketball season, they concluded the season at a perfect 29-0 mark, ranked first in the state, and second in nation behind St. Vincent-St. Mary's team, led by LeBron James. Pike's Football team has recently seen success as well, falling short in the 2007 state championship game to Carmel High School after a perfect regular season and 14-1 overall record, the best in 5A.[citation needed]

[edit] Show Choir

The Pike Performing Arts Department fields two choirs in the show choir division: the Pike Encores co-ed, and the Pike Mystiques female. Each has competed nationally. Pike High School annually hosts a show choir competition, Pike Musicfest, which is generally scheduled for the second Saturday of March. One of Pike's non-show choirs, the Menz Choir, placed 3rd in a recent State competition, granting it the title of best all-male choir in Indiana for that year. In the year of 2008, The combined group of Concertiques got 2nd place falling only to Brownsburg. At Anderson High School, the Encores took Grand Champion as well as 8/9 Caption Awards. The only thing they didn't win was "Best Outfits".

[edit] Marching Band

Pike is also known for the Pike Crimson Rage Marching Band which competed in the Indiana State Fair for many years, until becoming a competition band, instead of a Parade Band, in 2003. Because of the large number of Students attending Pike High School, the Pike Crimson Rage Marching Band was placed into Class A and competes against other Class A bands, such as Ben Davis High School and Avon High School.
