Pikake Botanical Gardens

Pikake Botanical Gardens (6 acres) is a private botanical garden located at 15515 Villa Sierra Road, Valley Center, California. It is newly created, with the oldest gardens dating to 1999. Tours by appointment only.

The gardens were created for Clyde and Connie Childress by landscape designer Bryan Morse. Current gardens are as follows; long-term plans also include a greenhouse.

  • English Garden (2001) - over 200 species of perennials.
  • Mediterranean Garden (1999) - citrus trees and other fruits, interspersed with herbs and geraniums, planted around an existing grove of mature olive trees.
  • Pan-Asian Garden (2000) - a meditation garden with redwoods, moon gate, and boulders.
  • Prayer Garden (2001) - white flowering plants, with life-size statue of a kneeling angel.
  • Protea Garden - over 40 varieties of proteas.
  • Rose Garden (1999) - approximately 300 varieties of roses.
