[edit] Why Reliable Sources and Verifiability are Important

Reliable sources and verifiability of those sources are central policies on Wikipedia for good reason. Without sourcing the information in a Wikipedia article to a reliable source, subsequent editors have little idea about whether the information is accurate. Indeed, if the information in the article is unsourced or poorly sourced, it is almost certainly original research.
