[edit] Nopigou Club?
I have doubts about saying that the National Post actually "founded" such an organization. The article gives the impression that the term is merely a catchy way to headline an opinion columnist's opposition to Pigovian taxes. Is there any evidence of a real organization? If not, we should leave in the external link as a criticsm of the Pigou Club, but delete the sentence in text about the supposed "Nopigou Club". JamesMLane t c 11:04, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
The Nopigou club homepage is here:

Terence Corcoran invites people to join at that link. He's also started a Nopigou blog:

I don't know, it seems about as reasonable as suggesting that a bunch of blog posts by Greg Mankiw "founded" a "group", and listing the dates on which Mankiw blogged about each person's Pigovian-tax advocacy. This article is rather soapbox-y IMO. It could probably be deleted outright, though I will propose only that it be merged into Mankiw's page. --Jjb 09:22, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. This article should be deleted in my opinion. Marc K 19:19, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

- I say we merge it with the Greg Mankiw article. I'll put it on my to-do list if no one objects, and it should get done eventually. -FrankTobia (talk) 01:15, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
I put the merge banner on the articles a while ago, there's been very little discussion since then. I think we should merge NoPigou into Pigou, and Pigou into Mankiw. It think it is being overweighted as a topic since it's relatviely easier to understand than many of Mankiw's important contributions to economics because they are technical.AleXd (talk) 13:06, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm having trouble finding a Wikipedia article on the NoPigou club. Could you provide a wikilink? Thanks. -FrankTobia (talk) 14:17, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
As far as notability goes, the Pigou Club was recently referenced in the Wall Street Journal (May 7, 2008). The article URL is http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121010926955071849.html Mad Hops (talk) 21:51, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
