PIGSSAI is an all-volunteer, SEC registered, non-governmental organization (NGO), dedicated to the preservation, revival, enhancement and promotion of all Philippine Indigenous Games and Sports, particularly Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) and the Traditional Native Games (FNG).
PIGSSAI’s objectives are three-pronged:
- To save and preserve
- To enhance and enrich
- To promote and propagate these ancestral legacies in the field of Sports and Games.
PIGSSAI envisions that all original Filipino Martial Arts and native games are to be nurtured and grow as a landmark of the Filipino peoples’ artistic struggle, cultural belongingness, competitive spirit, racial ingenuity and as an effective channel of health maintenance, sports and cultural tourism. They do not discount the possibility to see these indigenous games as the Philippine’s proud contribution to the Olympic Games and other international sports venues.
