[edit] Hee
- Waar komt jou interesse vandaan?
Groeten, ForrestSjap (talk) 18:42, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] First Chechen War heading image
I do like the pic you uploaded - but - fair use images are used where no free alternative is used. We have free images here, and those free images can also be combined to make one "collage", see example Iraq War --TheFEARgod (Ч) 09:22, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hey yes we can, but It's in the rules that you can't use the same image on the same page more than once (which makes sense). If we were to build a new collage, or use the old one (which I believe was too big by the way) then the images in these collage cant be used again on the first page which would be a bummer. - PietervHuis (talk) 10:57, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- OK, but however, if you can confirm that the mountain+tanks photo is in the PD it can be placed on commons, and that would be great. --TheFEARgod (Ч) 13:29, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

- Please take it easy. As you probably know, Hanzo has been indefinitely blocked. Also, the Diguren "Eastern European" sanctions by ArbCom are currently in effect. Do not delete official notifications by admins. If you need something, please state it politely here. Cheers, Biophys (talk) 18:35, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

- I am not an admin or moderator. There is no way to help Hanzo. I tried but only made things much worse. One should never ask WP:ANI unless the case is clear cut. I think that Hanzo actually wanted to leave WP (too much stress) but he was addicted and therefore could not. So he decided behave uncivil - to be evicted by others. Look here [8]. That is how many good users stopped editing in WP.Biophys (talk) 21:44, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

So what's that stuff about ArbCom? - PietervHuis (talk) 23:08, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- As you can see here [9], any "uninvolved" admin can just tell you: "hey, you are editing on the Eastern European subjects ("broadly defined") and I think you are making unjustified reverts without talking. Now I am giving you that little black spot (remember Treasure Island?) - the warning. Next time you will be blocked for a l-o-o-ng". So, quite a few people decided: "we are not the pirates; we would rather get out of wikipedia". At least that is my understanding. If anyone wants to correct me, please do.Biophys (talk) 01:16, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A comment
I think you are doing great job with Chechen war articles (sorry for a couple of critical comments). Are you a history student? Hanzo can sleep well. This copyright paranoia is terrible; perhaphs you should provide the rationale, although I am not an expert here. Cheers, Biophys (talk) 00:44, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Since you provide provide lots of photos for a biographies (it's you, isn't it?)
would you have any for Salman Raduyev? --84.234.60.154 (talk) 13:39, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Чеченский Капкан
This is hardly new. I have seen this scrawny chemotherapy-looking "commando" fellow and his awesome story years ago. --84.234.60.154 (talk) 20:54, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- Peter, I am very sorry this had happened. You can not fight alone someone like K. Make no more than two reverts per article per day (if you make three, someone may decide this is WP:DE, gaming the system, etc.). Try to add more sourced content or find a better and compromise version of an article, instead of head-on warring. Post an RfC request about the article, ask 3rd opinion or advice, even from me. Remember, your strenght is creation of new content and especially new articles. Make some reading and prepare some texts for WP articles (if you wish) during this week, or just have some rest. Best regards, Biophys (talk) 22:55, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Keep in mind, arguing with admins may result in a longer block, and you know at least one user who have been indefinitely blocked.Biophys (talk) 23:02, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah you're probably right, although you and I know K is no better than me on this one. It's just a matter of principles, I expected admins to not be so short-sighted. I won't be intimidated though, I'm mostly on wikipedia to learn things myself rather than to teach others. So I'll be back in a few days or so. - PietervHuis (talk) 23:13, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Please look at this ongoing discussion. No one should be intimidated. But there are certain rules. Without them WP would be total anarchy (although it may be already is). Welcome back in a few days.Biophys (talk) 23:21, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
