Hi there!
I noticed your work on the Dispatch article. Are you a fan? Well anyway, what you saw there was some childish vandalism. I wanted to let you know that there is a quick and easy way to get rid of vandalism like that, by rolling back a page to a previous version — it's called reverting, and you can read about it here. The problem with copying Google's cached version back into the wiki is that we lose all of the useful edits that have been made since Google last crawled the article. Reverting is pretty simple, and only goes back to the last unvandalized version of the page, therefore not losing any good edits. I reverted the Dispatch article back to the last version before the vandalism; if you'd be willing to redo those changes you made to it, please feel free!
All that having been said, I guess I should properly welcome you, soooo welcome! Here's some links that you might find useful:
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Follow the Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Thanks for fighting the vandals at Dispatch; hope you stick around and continue contributing. If you have any questions or comments (or blonde jokes, apparently . . .:-), drop by and leave a note on my talk page, here. Happy editing! — orioneight (talk) 23:54, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dispatch Discography Section
There is a new, recent movement in the Wikipedia Community to remove pictures of the albums from the discography and just limit them to the actual page for the album. I did not want to alarm you and make it look like I am removing info from the page. I realize the hard work you put into it, as I did on the moe. page. I had my work removed from that site and after reading the reason, I agree that it should have been removed. I am sorry for having to delete your work but it is VERY important to make articles agree with wiki standards. Any questions/discussion can be directed to my talk page. Cheers! [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dispatch-undertheradar.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Dispatch-undertheradar.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:53, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
