I work in the professional entertainment industry as a technical designer. I'm the director of Stagelink ltd, based in the UK.

I specialise in the coordination of the technical design process. I initially work with the creative team and production designer to 'ground' their ideas and then work with contractors during the fabrication process before handing over to the technical crew who will run the production. I spend alot of time working with AutoCAD in 3d to illustrate how designs will look.

I've worked all over the world on Productions including the Millennium Dome Central Show, Rolling Stones 2002/3, Thomas and Friends Tour, We Will Rock You, Yo Sushi Conveyors, NSSC - Leicester Space Centre, Athens 2004 Olympic Ceremonies and the Doha Asian Games Ceremonies.

I started out in the industry by working with the National Youth Theatre before moving onto Samuelson Concert Productions, Theatre Projects and Vari-Lite (now known as PRG) as a lighting production electrician for 4 years. I then worked with Brilliant Stages and the designer Mark Fisher using AutoCAD to prepare fabrication and design drawings.

I'm the webmaster for Stagelink.com. The site contains thousands of edited production resources and a photo section showing images from Productions around the world. The site grew out of a need for me to keep track of all the companies and people I regularly use within the industry. The site used the database which I originally developed on my first website at shepperd.co.uk.
