I started this with only that one tornado in mind as that immediately requires an article on its own. However the full event will likely be incorporated in later after discussion; the naming is uncertain. The tornado list can be updated at User:CrazyC83/Outbreak0424 CrazyC83 11:59, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New list article and renaming suggestion

I am ready to add the entire list of tornadoes from this outbreak sometime this week, perhaps later today. After that we may have to rename the article if necessary. --JForget 14:55, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I've checked the storm data, there are 207 tornado reports from April 20 to 27. Removing reports from the same tornado, we are easily looking at 150+ tornadoes. So I would suggest to either called the Piedras Negras-Eagle Pass tornado outbreak or the (Late?) April 2007 Tornado Outbreak Sequence. Only thing though, the fatalities all came from the pair of tornadoes. So the thing I could do is to start a separate list article from the Sequence. Even if it was from the same outbreak, a separate article for the list of tornadoes would have been needed. --JForget 16:37, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I've noticed that the reports are duplicate, so the number is much lower. Still, a separate list is needed as being over 80 tornadoes at least during the sequence. What's the best for this article, an outbreak sequence from the 20th to the 27th or a bit after or simply the outbreak from the same system that produced the killer tornado--JForget 16:56, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Generally, I am in favor of naming articles based on what is most notable. In this case yes there were a lot of tornadoes, but 10 years from now nobody is going to remember the other 91 tornadoes that did not cause fatalities. So in this case I don't see a problem with naming it Piedras Negras-Eagle Pass torando outbreak. This same issue just came up with Utica, Illinois Tornado Outbreak. Someone renamed it April 20, 2004 Tornado Outbreak becuase there were tornadoes outside of Utica. But I renamed it back to April 2004 Utica tornado outbreak. I guess when possible I like to try and avoid all cookie cutter names. Gopher backer (talk) 16:36, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
