Allseas has committed to build the Pieter Schelte at a cost of 1.7 billion Dollars. It will be 360m long and 118 m wide.
They will seek a Far East yard to handle the main constrction with final completion in Europe.
Main Diesel will be eight MEN 11MW with 12 Rolls Royce 6.1MW thrusters.
The ship is named after SS-officer Pieter Schelte Heerema (†1981), father of Allseas-owner Edward Heerema.
