Pierre Sarr N'Jie (17 July 190911 December 1993) was Chief Minister of The Gambia from March 1961 to 12 June 1962. Pierre Sarr N'Jie (also Njie as more popularly spelt in The Gambia)was head of the United Party (UP).

The United Party under Pierre Njie also was a phenomenal presence on the political scene in the 60's, 70's and 80's. It was, in fact, a more broad-based and popular party than the the rival PPP had ever been leading up to independence. But gradually the People Progressive Party (PPP), led by [Sir Dawda Jawara], soared in popularity and influence by focusing on the people in the rural areas, especially among the Gambia largest ethnic group, the Mandinkas, of which Mr. Jawara was a member. The PPP established dominance in the hinterland and soon spread out in the colony areas.

Despite being one of the most gifted of The Gambia's politicians, Mr. Njie was never able to attain the position of President after independence.
