Pierre Maillard

Pierre Maillard, (c. 1710 – 12 August 1762), was a priest from France who came to Canada and was a missionary to the Micmacs.
Maillard came to the Micmac missions on Île Royale, (Cape Breton Island), in 1734 as part of group of priests loaned to the Séminaire des Missions Étrangères for that purpose. He was highly regarded and made an immediate impact on the area.
