Pierre L'Enfant (painter)

Pierre L'Enfant (born at Anet in 1704 and died at Paris (Gobelins) on 23 June 1787) was a French painter.
He was Charles Parrocel's student and was admitted to the Académie de peinture et de sculpture in 1745. His specialty was painting battle scenes and landscapes, he exhibited them between 1741 and 1771.
He was married to Marie Charlotte Leullier and was the father of Pierre (Peter) Charles L'Enfant, designer of Washington, D.C.
