Pierre Joxe

Pierre Joxe (born November 28, 1934) is a former French Socialist politician and has been a member of the Constitutional Council of France since 2001.
Whereas his father, Louis Joxe, was Justice Minister of Charles de Gaulle, Pierre Joxe joined François Mitterrand's team in the Convention of the Republican Institutions and joined the Socialist Party (Parti socialiste or PS) in 1971.
Deputy for Saône et Loire (1973-1984 and 1986-1988), he presided the regional council of Bourgogne (1979-1982) then the Socialist group in the National Assembly from 1981 to 1984 and from 1986 to 1988.
Under Mitterrand's presidency, he was Interior Minister (1984-1986 and 1988-1991) then Defense Minister (1991-1993).
