Piedra Roja was a music festival.
Following the success of Woodstock, a similar music festival was held in Chile between the 10 and 12 of October 1970 in the oriental area of Santiago. Among others, the following bands performed in the festival: Aguaturbia, Los Blops, Lágrima Seca and Los Jaivas. Similarly to Woodstock, a relatively chaotic situation happened during the festival, which involved problems with the quality of sound, drugs and delinquency. On the other hand, the festival showed for the first time that the young population in Chile during the 70s was an important group to consider and also the increassing social tension that would ended in the September 11, 1973, Chilean revolution.
