Piedmont Virginia Community College

Piedmont Virginia Community College is a two-year, post-secondary educational institution located in Albemarle County, Virginia, south of Charlottesville. As part of the statewide Virginia Community College System, PVCC serves the residents of five counties surrounding Charlottesville and Albemarle, and an enrollment of over 2,200 full-time equivalent students as of 2005. Approximately 300 student each year transfer to four-year institutions. PVCC was chartered in 1972.

PVCC consists of a total of 4,675 undergraduates, 54% of which are part time students. Women constitute 58% of the student body and men 42%. [2]
