This is a self nomination. I've added it to the article Nymph (biology) which was previously lacking images, along with another image that's not quite as good, technically. I'm not usually much of a photographer, but the opportunity was just too good to pass up. The finger is mine, too - I had the camera in one hand and the insect on the other...

Comments:

  • Though the image itself is quite large (and gives a good idea of the nymph's size), because the nymph is such a small part of the picture it's pretty fuzzy and has very visible JPEG artifacting when you look at the full-size version. A good photo for the article, but quality issues probably mean it isn't going to succeed in becoming a featured photo - unless you have a higher-quality version without the JPEG artifacts? • Thanks for commenting. Is the second image I've just uploaded any better? --woggly 05:39, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
      • The resolution is better, but the subjct is still probably too small. Also, the lighting is rather shadowy, and the background distracts slightly--Pharaoh Hound (talk) 18:38, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
  • I think it would be a better picture if you moved the nymph into the light, or at least have it fully submerged in either side - don't have it halfway Hbdragon88 18:53, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
