Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. - "as I am sure you know, this was the first time I tried to put something in". No it wasn't - you put the same link in 4 days ago and I removed it then [1] - along with spamming the link to multiple other articles. It is an obscure website, attempting to sell things, and it is no coincidence that it is being edited in just before Burns night. It adds nothing. Please don't spam the site to any more articles. Thanks. SFC9394 (talk) 13:11, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

- "I do not understand why you think I am spamming with this link" - contribs. of the IP (which I presume is you) which first added it: [2] - added to articles: Robert Burns, Burns supper , History of Scotland, January 25 and Scotland all in 12 minutes (no other contribs. from that IP). "as the book is not offered for sale!" - the website you link to says differently [3]. SFC9394 (talk) 21:20, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] January 2008
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Robert Burns. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - Please read Wikipedia:External links. The link in question goes to a page which has nothing substantial to add to the topic. --NeilN talk ♦ contribs 16:55, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
