Piano di Sorrento is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Naples in the Italian region Campania, located about 25 km southeast of Naples. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 12,895 and an area of 7.3 km².[1]

The municipality of Piano di Sorrento contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Cassano, Mortora, Trinità, and Colli San Pietro.

Piano di Sorrento borders the following municipalities: Meta, Sant'Agnello, Vico Equense.

The famous Victorian poet Robert Browning sojourned in the area and mentions the countryside of Piano and other localities of the Surrentine peninsula in the poem "The Englishman in Italy."
