The Piaggio X8, 250cc is an Italian-made motor scooter, released in 2006. It is an update of the 200cc version.

[edit] Improvements

Now with a fuel injected quasar that meets new Euro 3 European emission standards. Brand new, this model will cost £3,200.00 in the United Kingdom and comes with as a windshield, a remote central locking style key that opens the front and rear storage compartments without having to put the key in the ignition and finally a very large underseat storage space which is big enough to take two full-face helmets (depending on the style of helmet).

The engine produces 22 bhp (16.4kW) which can give the bike of a safe top end speed of 90 mph (144 km/h) not 78 mph (125 km/h) that is stated in the factory hand book. The bike has an automatic twist and go transmission so there is no manual clutch/gears. This bike can be ridden on a United Kingdom 2 year restriction licence.

[edit] Problems

Although the fuel injection engine gives a smooth ride the mileage is lower than average. For example a full 2.42 gallon (11 litres) tank will take you a total of 125 miles (200 km) before it needs to be refilled. This is a mileage figure of 51.7 miles per gallon (5.46 litres per 100km).

The speedometer in miles per hour is hard to read, as the main speed dial and milelage is in kilometres per hour. Piaggio do not offer you an option to chage the main gauges from km/h to mph.
