Pia Cramling (born on April 23, 1963 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish chess player. She is currently (as of April 2008) ranked as the number four woman in the world by FIDE. [1]
Since the early 1980s, she has been one of the strongest female players in the world. She regularly plays on the Swedish (Men's) team in the World Chess Olympiads, one of only three women to regularly play on the "men's" teams. In 1992, she was awarded the title of grandmaster by the International Chess Federation (FIDE). Cramling, married to the Spanish grandmaster Juan Bellon, lived in Spain for a number of years. She won the 2003 women's European Individual Chess Championship.
