It isn't obvious to me that credentials from outside Wikipedia can ever be valid grounds for winning a disagreement on Wikipedia, and I don't mean to use my own outside credentials that way. Therefore, there is no reason I should have to prove those credentials. Not proving them makes them less likely to get in the way of legitimate Wikipedian concerns.
