EXPLANATION
Last year, around July/August 2006, after reading the Wikipedia rules for external links, I added the link for my fansite Heath Ledger Heathenson the [Heath Ledger] page. Since there wasn't a link there already, I knew according to the rules, I could add one fansite to the external links section. I was the only one listed.
The next day when I came back, my link had been removed and a competitors had been added in it's place. Upon checking the history, it showed that they had deliberately changed my link to theirs. After changing it back, I began watching the page for about 2 weeks. During that time, every time I added my link, it would be removed and replaced with said competitor's page. Moreover, half of the time, it was a IP Address that I recognized, so I knew I was right. At one point, they even had the gall to actually REPLACE the url in my link, so that it looked like mine, but DIRECTED to them!
I was appalled at the nerve.
I thought that maybe if I acted in good faith, just re-added mine and left theirs alone, they'd leave mine alone. By the time you deleted the links, I was beyond furious at the childish games. I added the note to my edit to let someone on the staff be aware that this was going on.
Then I just gave up and decided it wasn't worth it. It's been 14 months, and I haven't been back to look since until today.
