This square-cube law seems to possibly be an urban legend (or not, I don't know). Does anyone know what basis in fact there is for it? I thought maybe the author could possibly be referring to the fact that air resistance increases with the cube of speed. Spalding 04:10, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC)

Today I changed Newton to Galileo based on the information in reference 1. The actual accuracy and source of this "law" is still unclear to me. Spalding 15:34, May 1, 2005 (UTC)
