Phu My Hung Urban is a new urban area in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The new urban area covers an area of 600 ha, and unlike most disordered urban areas in the country, features good urban planning carried out by a US architecture company. The investment comes from a Taiwanese corporation. The urban area is built in harmony with the surrounding areas, dominated by green trees, canals, and pools. The area is saved for the rich households in the country only due to the expensive house and apartment prices it offers (from US $100,000 up to hundreds of thousand USD). While nominal GDP per capita in Ho Chi Minh City in 2007 is a little more than US $2,000, Vietnam's is just US $700.
