[edit] Howard Finster

Nice job on Mr. Finster there! He'd been sitting around on my to-do list for quite some time. Anyway, I'm happy to welcome you here, and glad to have you as a Wikipedian. Rhymeless (Er...let's shimmy) 03:52, 8 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Daniel Johnston

Are you sure he's dead? I know the tribute album is called "The Late Great ...", but I was under the impression that it was not meant literally. And I see no sign that he's died from neither the official site nor the most prominent fan-site. Mortene 08:50, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing that out... I have a collection of Austin Chronicle articles from this past summer which mention him being dead, but when I googled it, it appeared to be a strange sort of hoax which confused even the Chronicle editors. Or maybe they were in on it. Hell, I'm glad he's not. Philthecow 14:46, Jan 9, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] American breweries

I would argue that this article is a stub actually. It may have quite a bit of information in, but it is not called List of 50 largest American breweries, so it ought to have more than one proper sentence to not be a stub... Justinc 10:24, 6 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism alert

Good evening. Please review your user page. An anon user recently made edits to it. Essentially all the anon user's other edits have been reverted as vandalism. From the context, I think that is the case here as well but I don't want to take liberties with your user page. Rossami (talk) 03:10, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Yeager Scholars

Thanks for proofreading the Yeager Scholars page. I've always been a miserable speller and completely gave up trying when I started using microsoft word. Just out of curiosity, from what article did you find the link to the page? I didnt realize that anyone other than some of the members had surfed over to the little article I started. Youngamerican 19:31, 11 July 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the props on the hotdog article. Good work on Hell's Kitchen, too. Youngamerican 03:43, 12 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cory Arcangel

He's a personal friend of mine and I can assure you, he's not gay. Otherwise, nice job.

[edit] Use of "vandalism" in edit summaries

Hi. Please be careful of using the word vandalism in edit summaries (like here). Not every bad edit meets the definition of Wikipedia:Vandalism and it is important to not bite the newbies. I certainly agree that the addition should have been removed, but not every poor editor is a vandal. Thanks. Jkelly 22:08, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Scouting Wikiproject

A number of wikipedians have started the Scouting Wikiproject. Currently, GSUSA is woefully underrepresented, and since yours is the only user page linking to Gold Award, I thought you might wanna join up and help out. -- Thesquire (talk - contribs) 20:40, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Swarthmore

You're a student at Swarthmore? I'm considering applying there next year (possibly early decision). What do you think? Any words of wisdom for me? Neutralitytalk 01:38, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Scouting article work

If you are getting this, it is because you do or did work on Scouting articles (see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Scouting#Participants_and_primary_areas_of_interest).

As the Scouting WikiProject has been formed since early January 2006, we've had many great improvements made in this area of Wiki and I want to personally thank everyone for their help. We don't always agree on things, but we keep moving forward. YIS, Rlevse 22:09, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Fairy Feller

Hello, Philthecow, I noticed that you worked on The Fairy Feller's Moster Stroke - page. I'm a german user of wikipedia, and in the German page of the band Queen is Fairy Feller translated with "Holzfäller" (woodcutter). Is this right, or is a feller only a fellow? Please tell me. I'll visit your page soon. - Claus from Germany

Hello, Philligirl, I wait since months for an answer of you - come from your meadow and talk to me! - Claus from Germany--88.134.78.135 20:11, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I am sending this out to wikiart folks everywhere,

so please don't feel picked on. Here's my thing. I've been watching list of sculptors recently and have been weeding out the entries in red on the theory that this is an index of sculptors in wikipedia. However i have been reluctant to remove artists that I know or discover to be real, wikipedia worthy people, so am trying to decide if i should just do a stub - maybe a lot of stubs - of these folks or leave them on the list [I HATE lists with too much red - check out the List of Frank Lloyd Wright works for example.

For example, i checked out one, François-Joseph Duret (1804 - 1865) and discovered that there are at least two sculptors with that name, (1732 - 1816) and (1804 - 1865)- this one is the son - and both probably could comfortably be in wikipedia. I did have a rather bad moment recently when someone DELETED my article on Connor Barrett about an hour [maybe less] after I first posted it, on the theory that he was not wikiworthy [or something] and a lot of these fairly remote (in time and place from me) artists are a lot more obscure than Barrett. So, i would like to know that i have the support of the wikipedia art history community before doing this. Drop me a line, if you wish to sit down and be counted. Life is good, Carptrash 05:06, 4 November 2006 (UTC) P.S. although i do mostly American art i have contributed to lots on non-American articles including Aleijadinho, Ásmundur Sveinsson, Einar Jonsson, Gunnfrídur Jónsdóttir, Henry Moore, Ivan Meštrović, Ørnulf Bast, Rayner Hoff, and probably some others. I say this because most of the stubs I'm proposing would be Europeans.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Dargerpainting.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Dargerpainting.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 01:32, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
