[edit] evolutionary creationism
I agree there are a variety of terms employed and they all refer to subtly different POVs that need explaining. However evolutionary creationism is the older page with all the page history and the content. Turnign it into a rredirect and destroying everyone's work isn't helpful. Take it to talk:evolutionary creationism if you want to move it. Dunc|☺ 13:43, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your edits on this topic! I've now turned theistic evolution back into a redirect, as someone had wrongly copied the content across. To move a page you first have to get consensus and then use the page move button so that all the page's edits are preserved, which is important for the licensing, etc. Nothing to do with you, you just got caught in the crossfire! I hope that you keep up the good work! Any problems, feel free to leave a note on my talk page and I'll try and help (or point you in the direction of someone more experienced than me who might know- which is more likely!) --G Rutter 20:33, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

- Yeah, what he just said. Have you see http://www.uwosh.edu/colleges/cols/clergy_project.htm ? Dunc|☺ 22:06, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
- I don't believe I have, thanks for pointing it out. Darn there are a lot of us evolutionary creationists. I should link that Clergy Letter somewhere.

- I was reading the evolutionary creationism talk page, and thought I'd better leave a note here- the photographs you uploaded of Keith B. Miller, Denis Lamoureux, etc need to be tagged with the appropriate copyright notice. I'm guessing that you scanned them from book jackets, took them from websites, etc? If you did, unfortunately they'll almost certainly have to be deleted, if they are copyrighted, which they probably will be. See Copyright tags on wikimedia commons for more info.
- Whilst I'm on the subject, I'll try and get an article together on Keith Ward as I've got a few of his books, etc. --G Rutter 12:55, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks, does this mean I need to get permission from the individuals to have their pictures in the Wikipedia? They were all pictures from their own web sites, or on the net. I need to get permission? Yes, please add an entry for Keith Ward, I know at least one book he has written (God, Chance, Necessity) and he has one chapter in the Dembski/Ruse collection Debating Design on "theistic evolution." Thanks for the note. PhilVaz 19:29, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

- Thanks for your messages. I'm afraid that I'm not at all clear about whether those images would be fair use of not. I've left a message on Wikipedia:Help desk which should clarify the situation. Obviously, if you could get in touch with the people and get them to release their image under a GFDL that would be great! (This license releases the image for use on any medium, including commercial- I think!). I'll let you know when I get a reply from the Help desk. --G Rutter 09:19, 8 September 2005 (UTC)

- Right, the answer appears to be no, they don't come under fair use (see Wikipedia:Fair use#Images). So, unfortunately, the only options are persuade the people to release an image under GFDL or delete the images, which is a pain. --G Rutter 12:01, 8 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Robert Sungenis
As recently as 1966, sheik Abd el Aziz bin Baz asked the king of Saudi Arabia to suppress a heresy that was spreading in his land. Wrote the sheik:
The Holy Koran, the Prophet's teachings, the majority of Islamic scientists, and the actual facts all prove that the sun is running in its orbit... and that the earth is fixed and stable, spread out by God for his mankind.... Anyone who professed otherwise would utter a charge of falsehood toward God, the Koran, and the Prophet."
[snip]
- The good sheik is probably ignorant of the evidence. Even more likely, he is so hopelessly biased that no amount of evidence would impress him.
(Theodore Dobzhansky, Nothing in Biology Makes Sense Except in the Light of Evolution)
Now, our ironically-named friend User:Truth seeker claims that are you in "broad agreement" about of this chap Robert Sungenis, (talk:Robert Sungenis http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Robert_Sungenis&diff=22794200&oldid=22793504 he's pretty wound up at the moment since I protected it, but I can only hold him off for so long. Anyway, yes, please contribute to the discussion there, since I've asked others to join. Dunc|☺ 00:28, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

- Thanks for the note. As for broad agreement, I am agreed with TruthSeeker that the Robert Sungenis theological books Not By Faith Alone (1997), Not By Scripture Alone (1997), and Not By Bread Alone (2000) are good works of Catholic theology responding to Protestant evangelical and fundamentalist claims against the Catholic Church. All the material I have read from Robert Sungenis on science however, tells me he is not reliable in those areas. He "came out of the closet" as a geocentrist in early 2002, although I've known Sungenis was a young-earther for several years before that, from Email discussions. TruthSeeker and I have a little history on the Catholic Answers boards (http://forums.catholic.com) and apparently he is one of the few who has read the Sungenis writings on "geocentrism" and believes him. Thanks for the support, and please recommend folks knowledgeable in physics/astronomy to contribute to the geocentrism material. I'll respond to TruthSeeker in the Sungenis discussion, and you can probably unlock the page Monday or so. PhilVaz 06:13, 10 September 2005 (UTC)
Hi. I've made some suggestions on changes to the Sungenis page, which Truth Seeker has accepted. If you could comment on them, we can then ask for the page to be unlocked. Thanks! --G Rutter 07:27, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] comment
Hi!
Please join us in Wikipedia:WikiProject Catholicism.
God bless!
[edit] Need your input
Right now I am having trouble convincing some editors on intelligent design that the article may be giving undue weight to a non-magesterium Catholic position and also omits that theists reject intelligent design that contradicts evolution. It also omits that theists can reject it for reasons other than moral or ethical grounds, such as scientific grounds. My edit is at the bottom of [1] but is being rejected by only a few on [2]. If you think what I said has some meaning then pls do weigh in. Thanks to all. (CptKirk 00:41, 19 January 2007 (UTC))
