For the immediate future, I expect the majority of my on-wiki time to be directed at the Board of Trustees election. Please forgive slower than usual responses on this talk page in the meantime.

Reverting my actions: Due to this potential inactivity, I'll explicitly say here that anyone is free to reverse any edit or admin action I make without discussing it with me first (with the exception of OTRS actions, which I really would prefer that you not revert without a pressing need), and I will not consider it edit warring or wheel warring. If you revert one of my admin actions, I would appreciate a notification that you did so.

Announcement

Please note: any messages left on my talk page about the upcoming Wikimedia Board of Trustees election may be moved to my meta userpage or to the Election Committee pages in order to keep them all in one place. Suffrage requirements (as well as vote system, calendar, and candidate requirements) are posted on the Election Committee pages. Information will be posted to the Election Committee pages once final decisions are made.

About me

On en:Wikipedia, I am an administrator (and very much appreciate the support that the community showed in my RfA) and a member of the OTRS team. If you run across an OTRS edit of mine, I request that you contact me before reverting or changing it - there may be privacy concerns involved or other reasons that the edit needs to stay as it is, but I'm happy to talk to you about it (without divulging any confidential information) if you have a question. I am also a temporary sysop (election issues only) on Meta. I requested and received it with the clear understanding that I will voluntarily relinquish sysop on meta at the conclusion of the election. If I wish to retain it, I'll apply like any other sysop there.

In 2008, I was named by the board as an election inspector on March 15 [1]. The 2008 election committee can be found here. In 2007, I was a member of the Election Steering Committee for the Wikimedia Foundation [2]. As an election steering committee member, I did not take a position in the board elections, and did not support any candidate in this election (nor did I vote).

On meta and commons, my username is Philippe. On IRC (usually in #wikipedia-en), my username is Philippe|Wiki. I have accounts on various other wikis as well. I am in control of the SUL login "Philippe" as well.

Unrelated to my on-wiki stuff, the important things to know, I suppose, are that I'm in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I have a strong interest in politics - I used to work as a political consultant, and previously consulted for Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland and Governor Howard Dean. Also, let's just get this one out of the way right upfront.... Philippe = Boy.

For work, I'm no longer a political consultant (there's a limit to what my blood pressure will handle these days). I'm now a Research Associate for a regional program evaluation firm based in Tulsa. I work mainly with social service organizations who have state or federal grant money.

Also for work part time, I am a church musician, serving as the organist for a Presbyterian church near the campus of the University of Tulsa. Previously, I've worked in several Roman Catholic Churches. I consider myself Episcopalian now, though, and recently joined the Episcopal Church.

You can find a photo of me at Image:Philippe.JPG. It's not actually here because... well, I suck at putting images into things. There's a more recent one of me with Jimmy Wales at the WMF Office in San Francisco on commons.

I have two favorite mottos, which I have stolen from others and have printed on various things: A domino factum est istud et mirabile in oculis nostris. (from Elizabeth I) and Plus est en vous (from various sources in Bourgundy).

Non nobis solum.

For all your hard work at RFPP. Should I just take it off my watchlist, since you seem to answer every request anyway? :) ~ Riana 04:50, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
