Bob Roberts was a pioneer American recording artist. He was born on April 27,1879 and died on January 21,1930. He started recording in 1902 for Columbia making 7" and 10" discs, as well as black and brown wax 2 minute cylinders. Bob Roberts recorded mostly comic and Coon Songs. Some of his hit songs for Columbia in 1903 were, Hurrah For Baffin's Bay, I'm a Jonah Man, Marriage is Subline, I'm Thinking of You All De While, and By the Sycamore Tree. Some other songs he recorded was, My Name is Morgan But It Ain't J.P., Nothing From Nothing Leaves You, Tippecanoe, Everybody Works But Father, I'm Getting Ready for My Mother-in-Law, You'll Have to Wait Till My Ship Comes In. His last song to chart was his biggest hit, Ragtime Cowboy Joe in 1912.
