Welcome to Philaweb's virtual space in the Wikipedia world of wisdom!
The given name of Philaweb is Paul (1966, Denmark), who 1982 did not finish high school and since then has worked as a manual laborer. Philaweb was born into a roman catholic family descending from Germany (mothers family was evacuated from East Prussia during Operation Hannibal) and since 2006 Philaweb lives in Malmö, Sweden, a city and country he has come to like very much. In 1992 Philaweb visited Latvia for the first time, and 1993 he met his wife in Riga with whom he has been married to since 1995.
What?
On Wikipedia Philaweb is an active member of the WikiProject Latvia, he is also a member of the WikiProject Denmark and WikiProject Sweden — and he contributes whenever he can. Occationally, the list of Philaweb's Wikimedia Commons contributions is expanded. Wikipedia consumes much of his free time, besides that Philaweb is also an avid deltiologist and philatelist — as can be seen at his Picasa webalbum.
Why?
There has been a lot of water under the bridge since the first time Philaweb was online in 1999. 1 January 2000, he registered the first time on eBay, since then he has learned lots of usefull things. Philaweb has become quite a good HTML, XHTML, PHP and CSS hardcoder, he mainly uses open source programs like jEdit, Mozilla Firefox etc. to create web design. The first PC with ethernet access that Philaweb used had Windows 98 installed. Since then Philaweb has had Mac OS X, Linux (SuSE) and both Windows XP and Vista. Currently, an Acer Aspire E700 is his daily work station, but during a year or so Philaweb will switch to a laptop for better utilization of the HSPDA connection he currently subscribe to.
What else?
When it comes to music Philaweb is very broadminded. Favorite genres are hip hop, classical and lately Balkan brass band. Kočani Orkestar (L'orient est rouge), Rahzel (Rahzel's Greatest Knockouts) and Fanfare Ciocărlia (Queens and Kings) are amongst his latest album acquisitions. Some of his favorite TV-shows are: The Simpsons, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, 'Allo 'Allo!, South Park and M*A*S*H. Borat and similar mental slapstick crazy humour is also of his choice, preferably with lots of embedded puns.
