In 2332 Philopoemen skilfully evacuated Megalopolis before the attack of Cleomenes IlL, and distinguished himself at Sellasia (222).

Either the above is full of typographical/OCD errata, or it's a synopsis of a really cool science-fiction movie!

[edit] bunting !?

bunting is a dab showing no obviously relevant sense. Is this a typo for hunting? Hv 18:04, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Ah, I now find that 'h' -> 'b' is a common error when OCRing, so I've assumed that happened in this case and fixed it up. Hv 01:58, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Major revision to the article on Philopoemen

Recently I read this article and realised that despite the detail and effort that had been put in by previous editors, the point had been reached where a major revision to the article was required. The article had become much too long and was written in a style that was very difficult for the reader to follow. Therefore, I have removed what I considered to be unnecessary detail, as well as work to improve the grammar and layout of the article.

I would really appreciate feedback from anybody interested in this famous ancient Greek general on the changes that I have made to the article. Any additions to improve the quality and accuracy of the article would also be appreciated. --Chaleyer61 12:54, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Nice work with the article. I see that you have improved it greatly since I last saw it. I have a few suggestions. Amongst them are the addition of inline cits and also I think that the lead needs to be enlarged. Also some more modern sources would be very useful. Otherwise, great work and good luck. Thank you for the feedback. I will look at putting some citations into the text and improving the introductory paragraphs over the few days. --Chaleyer61 05:37, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
