[edit] Reference problems

It says that there are no references for this article. What references do the critics want exactly? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.157.193.13 (talk) 16:53, April 4, 2008 (UTC)

All the information in the article needs proper independent, published references. One of the core features of Wikipedia is that readers should be able to verify all the information in every article. This means that every piece of information should have a reliable source that the reader can refer to to verify that information. For example, even something as simple as "Philip Schneider (April 23, 1947 - January 17, 1996) was a geologist and structural engineer," needs sources for his birth and death dates and the facts that he was a geologist and structural engineer. Otherwise anyone could write anything and there is no way for the reader to know if it is true or not.
Any information that is unsourced can be removed from an article. In this case because there are no sources, virtually the entire article could be legitimately deleted. Gwernol 16:58, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
So I did not understand - was he or was he not working for the government? He "claims" but can't this information be checked? It sounds like the man is a fraud but it says nothing in support of that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.159.119.210 (talk) 22:08, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
