The reason I edited it as I did was to make it more clinically objective; many of the terms and phrases that had been used to describe his condition & treatment were not. Michael David 23:26, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
It is important for the historical record to note that in early 1963 (or late 1962?) Phillip Graham publicly asserted that President Kennedy was having an affair with Mary Pinchot Meyer, and that he was drugged, strait-jacketed, flown to DC, and committed to an asylum after this drunken 'nervous breakdown'. Kennedy's affair with Meyer is now well-documented. E.g., see Benjamin Bradlee, A Good Life (Simon & Schuster: NY, 1995 pp.270-271); Nina Burleigh, [A Very Private Woman: The Life and Unsolved Murder of Presidential Mistress Mary Meyer (Bantam: NY, 1998); etc.
