[edit] ReignMan

Phil is my uncle, I thought I might fact check a bit for you all... I don't know him real well, I have more than a dozen uncles(!), but I can clear up some innacuracies. ReignMan 23:15, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] PAC05 picture

Change the photo, he does not look that bad in person, I swear!!! He's a good looking guy, so is his dad. My mother is quite the looker too. ReignMan 23:15, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm afraid I have to agree with Pigsonthewing. That photograph is simply terrible. You can barely see Phil's face compared with the bright reflection of the sign and the back of some guy's head. And the only thing in focus is the guy's head. Phil looks rather blurry and ghoulish. It's certainly not a flattering picture by any standard. Kaldari 19:32, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

Although I disagree with POTW as he has mostly been a nuisance from what I can see to other editors, stand-by for a better one coming, to replace it. I'm sure others will like it better. Scott 20:26, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

Kalidari, If you don't like this one have more. I think Phil looks good in this one. Kinda happy and all. Whatta think? Yea, or Ney? Better? A keeper or not? Caio Scott 02:07, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
That one looks much nicer. I don't know why you would have chosen than initial picture over this one. Kaldari 14:20, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
I'm delighted that, despite Scott's personal attack, and him saying that he doesn't agree wth me, his actions show that he does, finally, agree that the ptcure needed to be removed. Andy Mabbett 14:58, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

Kaldari: I was hoping you would like this one, although it did come out a bit dark too, I must admit. The reason I put the other one up was to show with the text associated Phils oic at the podium, interest in accelerator/ particle technology of which he does have his degree in Physics from NY. His speech was extraordinary to over 2,500 participants from around the world here. I sat in the second row, and managed to chat and get a pic with him. He's pretty cool Scott 15:06, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] birthplace

He grew up in Shortsville, NY, but was born where you say he was, as far as I know. His father's family went to White Plains years later, then to Cleveland, then Ft. Lauderdale, where Phil's father lives still. I don't believe Phil & his mother's family ever moved down to Fl. ReignMan 23:15, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

One source I found states that Bredesen was born in Ocean Park, New Jersey ([1]), but Rambot doesn't seem to think that town exists. Any insight? — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 01:43, Jan. 15, 2006

This site also says Ocean Park, New Jersey. I know I've heard of that town. Maybe it's considered to be part of some other city. Kaldari 04:16, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
If we can figure out what city Ocean Park is part of, we should make it a redirect. In the meantime I'm changing the infobox to reflect what two sources have stated, though it is presently a red link. — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 04:21, Jan. 15, 2006
It looks like Ocean Park might be another name for Ocean Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. My only evidence so far though is that this page links "Ocean Park, New Jersey" to an article about Ocean Township.
There's also Ocean City, New Jersey, which was the place I was originally thinking of. Kaldari 04:38, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
It looks like a lot of other sources say Bredesen was born in Oceanport, New Jersey. Kaldari 04:52, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

The National Governors Association and Southern Governors Association both say Oceanport, New Jersey. Kaldari 04:59, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps, then, Ocean Park, New Jersey should redirect to Oceanport, New Jersey? — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 06:11, Jan. 15, 2006
I haven't been able to find anything on the internet relating Ocean Park to Oceanport (other than Phil Bredesen). My guess is someone misheard Oceanport as Ocean Park and the error propogated from there. Kaldari 07:21, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Primary loss

I think that the Democratic primary for the former Boner 5th district seat was later in 1987, not 1988 as stated in the article. (Maybe the author has the date of the general election in mind.) Does anyone have a reference for this right off hand? Rlquall 13:20, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Computer programmer

Even I can't answer this. His youngest 2 brothers are computer guys, but I don't know if he was a programmer or not, his bio says he was, but I've never asked. ReignMan 23:15, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

I know Phil is quite technically savy, but is he really a computer programmer? Kaldari 06:29, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Latest changes?

The latest additions have a lot of good stuff, but the tone sometimes reads very pro-Bredesen. Others thoughts? I'm reluctant to unilaterally start making a bunch of changes for a variety of reasons. --A. B. (talk) 18:34, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bias

This page is certainly biased leftwardly, as I give it a —15 on my scale of bias, with —500 being MoveOn.org and +500 being Sinclair Broadcasting, more or less. Bring this down to a —2 or less. Kailyn Mlad 19:40, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Any suggestions? I agree the current article is a bit too pro-Bredesen (although it used to be worse beleive it or not). It also has no references whatsoever, which is a big problem. Kaldari 20:42, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Nothing atm, but I'll be in and out quite much this week analyzing it. Kailyn Mlad 15:51, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Citations

This page is in great need of citations. How can we get the ball rolling on that? (I don't know much about wikipedia) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dave080888 (talk • contribs) 08:37, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
