Phish Food

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Phish Food is a Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor named after the rock band Phish. It is a chocolate ice cream with a caramel-marshmallow swirl and fish shaped chocolate fudge chunks inside. Recently, to celebrate Ben and Jerry's anniversary, the ingredients have been updated to also include cow shaped chocolate fudge chunks. The new shape references the ice cream parlor's infamous iconic bovine that often adorns the walls and tee shirts of many Ben and Jerry's Scoop Shops.

The band's royalties from Phish Food are donated to their non-profit foundation, The WaterWheel Foundation. Created in 1997, the foundation consisted of three separate branches - the Lake Champlain Initiative, The Touring Branch (now defunct) and the Vermont Giving Program.

In the movie Aquamarine, the titular mermaid, played by Sara Paxton, is eating from a container of Phish Food while bathing at Hailey's house.
