Philpot The Band

The six piece rock band Philpot was formed in 2000 in Dugger, Indiana. The band writes and rehearses its music in a family flower shop there. Its members are: Kentz Ward (vocals), Caleb Smith (guitar), Josh Kennedy (guitar), Tyler Evans (bass), AJ Boone (keyboards) and Arthur Ready (drums).

As teens, Philpot released their first album, The Nashville Sessions, on their own label, High Meadows. In 2005, Applehead Records released Philpot's second album, Bitch Be The World. In 2007, Philpot was signed to Toucan Cove/Universal Records and released their third album, Hate Writes Better Than Love. The album was produced by Bill Klatt (with Kentz Ward). Klatt's previous production credits include Queens of the Stone Age, Sneaker Pimps, Days of the New, The Rolling Stones and Cher.

Philpot's music has been featured on The Speed Channel (Fox/Nascar), ESPN, MTV Networks, and NFL.com. The band has appeared on CBS, NBC, Fox, WB and PBS television stations. As a support act they have performed with Kings of Leon, Snoop Dogg, Days of the New, Seven Mary Three, The Sick Puppies, Drowning Pool, Flyleaf and other acts.
