Philip Stenning

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Philip Stenning is a character who appears in Nevil Shute's novels, Marazan, So Disdained and Lonely Road.

Stenning is an archetypal First World War pilot - a man with an imperative moral position congruent with that of the war in question, where ends are seen to justify means.

Shute's (Nevil Shute Norway) own political persuasion is debatable. Some have seen him as left wing others as right wing, but perhaps liberal might be more appropriate.
