Philip Spratt

Philip Spratt started of as a communist sent by Communist International to spread Communism in India.

He was among the first architects of Communist Party of India, who was among the chief accused in the Meerut Conspiracy Case.

Through his reading during his time in jail and subsequent marriage to an Indian woman, Philip Spratt then turned his back on Communism and becomes the editor of MysIndia, a pro-American weekly.

He was among the lone voices against the well-intentioned fashionable leftist policies of Nehru and Indian government.

Friend of M.N. Roy who along with him became an anti-communist activist.
