His first novel was Debatable Space, published in January 2008 by Orbit Books in the United Kingdom and the USA. Philip Palmer describes himself as "...a glamorous hyphenate. Writer-writer-toolazytogetaproperjob-writer[2].

- Ketos (forthcoming). Palmer announced on his site that Ketos "...is not going to ready for a 2008 slot as originally planned"[3] but that he was "in good company" as both Richard Morgan and Neil Gaiman had missed several deadlines for their novels[4].
