Philip O. Alderson

Philip O. Alderson, M.D., is Dean of Saint Louis University School of Medicine.[1][2] He was formerly James Picker Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiology in P&S, Radiologist-in-Chief at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center.

Alderson is a graduate of Washington University, and of Washington University School of Medicine.

Alderson's work focuses on cardiac and pulmonary disorders. He is former President of the Society of Chairmen of Academic Radiology Departments, the Association of University Radiologists, the Association of Residency Program Directors in Radiology, and the Academy of Radiology Research. He has been a trustee of the American Board of Radiology and currently is serving a two-year term as the Board's president. In 2007, he became the 106th president of the American Roentgen Ray Society.[3]
