Philip Livingston Magnet Academy is one of four middle schools in the City School District of Albany, Albany, New York. The school opened in 1932 with an enrollment of 1392 students.
During the 2007/2008 school year, the student enrollment has been approximately 250 students. The school is located adjacent to the Tivoli Lake Preserve, the second largest Urban Wildlife Preserve in New York State.
The school has a Magnet denomination since it features dance, theater, orchestra, etc. The current principal is Thomas Giglio.
The interim assistant principal is Amanda Genzer, formerly a social worker at the school. The school year started with Michele Bridgewater as interim principal and Thomas Giglio as Assistant Principal.
