Philip Leacock

Unlike his brother, the documentary filmmaker Richard Leacock, filmmaker Philip Leacock (8 October 1917 in London - 1990) spent his childhood in the Canary Islands. He started with documentaries. When he turned to fiction films, his experience as a documentary filmmaker still strongly influenced his approach. He was especially well known for his films about children, particularly The Little Kidnappers (1953) and The Spanish Gardener (1956).
