Philip Klinkner

Philip A. Klinkner is an American political scientist and author. He has authored books with Rogers Smith and is noted for research noted for his research and writing American politics, especially political parties and elections, race and American politics, and American political history.
Originally from Iowa, Klinkner graduated from Lake Forest College before attending Yale University for M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in Political Science. In 1990-1991, he was a Research Fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C
He is currently at Hamilton College and is an occasional contributor to The Nation. He also runs the oft-quoted PolySigh blogwww.polysigh.blogspot.com, featuring the insights of leading political scientists whose home institutions run from the University of Notre Dame to Yale University.
